HUNGARIAN “POGÁCSA” by Emese
















The simple way

Ingredients:
For the dough
300 g white four
300 g cottage cheese
250 g butter
2 tsp salt

On the top
1 egg
cheese

Mix the ingredients together and than put the dough into the fridge for an hour. 
After the 1 hour has passed, turn the dough out onto a floured work surface. Dust the dough with flour and roll it out to about 1 cm in thick. Using a sharp knife, cut a criss-cross pattern on the top. Cut out rounds with a pastry cutter or a small glass and place them on a sheet of silicone baking parchment on a baking tray.
Brush the scones with the beaten egg to glaze and add the cheese generously on the top. 
Preheat the oven to 180C and bake them for  15-20 minutes until golden.
